“Nuxalk Carver“ A self-taught carver from Bella Coola, British Columbia, uses woodcarving to preserve the skills and culture of his people.
“Coach Robin Ross” In just his third year as the head coach of the Western Washington University football team, head coach Robin Ross, a Cherokee tribal member, takes the team to the first bowl game in the history of the program.
“American Indian Film Festival” The American Indian Film Institute, is using film and video as a tool to create multi-dimensional images of native culture, to help viewers un-learn stereotypes of the past.
“Around Indian Country” NWIN’s Deborah Parker reports on what’s going on around Indian Country.
“Native Comic Book Project” held at the Northwest Indian College campus. The session provided training for teachers to show students and members of the native community, how to create comic book stories that will also help them to make healthy lifestyle choices.
“Skagit River Estuary Habitat” – a settlement that ends a legal distripute between the Swinomish Tribe and the Skagit County Diking District #22. Brian Cladoosby, Chairman of the Swinomish Tribe reports
on the importance to Salmon recovery.
