Talking about “Earth Day” – April 22nd.
We’re doing a lot of things at Tulalip to ‘Clean up our Act’.
– Recycling program thru Sam Davis and his team. We invite everyone at home to recycle.
Tribal government continues to report greener practices.
Here are some of the great things we are doing right now to go green.
Chet Ashman – Administration Building Chief Engineer highlights –
– HVAC system – Ground Source Heat Pumps – more energy efficient
– Rain Gardens – in the parking lot – filters run-off from the automobiles
– Doing feasibility study regarding solar panels on the Admin building.
– Early Learning Academy – has solar on that building – teaching tool for the kids.
– HVAC system and lighting system in Admin building – computerized to not waste lights or heat
– One thing employees can do – if you turn it on, turn it off – overhead lights and fans.
– Make sure cigarette buds are put into the ash trays.
Eliza Davis – Custodial Maintenance Dept. Manager –
– Clean Core Caddy – produces liquid ozone – cleans and disinfects – chemical free.
– Biodegradable dining products – sustainable for our environment
– Put Recycle bins at all work stations. Recycle items in the garbage, put into recycle.
– Instead of bottled water, bring in your own water bottle
– Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
